Stephen Barbee is a nationally recognized servant leader, motivational speaker, and transformational mentor with over two decades of front-line experience in outreach, case management, reentry support, and spiritual leadership. As the Founder of P2P Ministry (Passion to Purpose Ministry), Stephen has become a driving force in restoring hope, purpose, and dignity to individuals navigating homelessness, incarceration, addiction recovery, and community reintegration.
Rooted in lived experience and professional expertise, Stephen’s career spans more than 20 years of impactful service across the Midwest. His diverse roles include Lead Shelter Manager at City Union Mission, Program Coordinator at Metro Lutheran Ministry, Community Outreach Manager at Connections to Success, Court Advocate for Clay County Courts, and Outreach Specialist with The Village Initiative in Kansas City, Kansas. He has mentored men at Leavenworth U.S. Penitentiary, co-founded KC Outreach, and facilitated countless life-skills and recovery groups in correctional institutions and transitional housing programs.
Stephen’s leadership and voice have reached national platforms. He has been a featured presenter for the U.S. Department of Justice, U.S. Probation and Pretrial Services, and numerous state correctional facilities, including Ellsworth Correctional Facility, Crossroads Correctional Center, Western Missouri Correctional Center, and the Missouri Restorative Justice Conference. His inspiring message of redemption also earned him the honor of commencement speaker for Highland Community College and a feature in Victorious Living Magazine.
With a passion for spiritual transformation, Stephen has served as a Chaplain at Lawndale Christian Health Center in Chicago, Men’s Division Director at Pacific Garden Mission, and has preached across Illinois, Missouri, Kansas, Indiana, Wisconsin, and Minnesota. He studied Biblical Studies at Moody Bible Institute and earned his Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Trinity International University.
A devoted husband to Deidre Anderson-Barbee, proud father to Latasha, Stephen, Sherell, Skyelar, and Bria, and grandfather to Ryeanne, Renae, Briaelle, Zya, and Adonis, Stephen’s legacy is deeply personal. His journey—from Dreams to Destruction, Disgrace to Deliverance—serves as the foundation for the hope he extends to others every day.
